Excess Cost Update
There have been technical issues with the new Excess Cost Application in IWAS which has caused delays in the release. Districts are encouraged to complete the Excel version of the excess cost worksheet so that when the application goes live, the information can be entered without delay. The worksheet and instructions are available on the IDEA Grant webpage. ISBE will provide ample time for the worksheets to be completed and submitted once the application is released. It is anticipated that the due date will be adjusted to one month after the IWAS excess cost application release. When the worksheet is live in IWAS, a notice with the new due date will be sent out on the Special Education Directors’ ListServ. Contact your IDEA Grant coordinator with questions while completing the Excel worksheet or the application once it goes live.
