Dear Special Education Directors,
Last week ISBE contacted several school districts about potential data errors or anomalous variances in their enrollment to ensure data quality for evidence-based funding. In several cases there was a miscommunication about Special Education PreK in ISTAR requiring approvals by Monday 12/3. We sincerely apologize for the miscommunication.
Special Education PreK approvals are NOT required by December 3rd. However, any student receiving services that will be claimed as a special education student in the evidence-based funding collection MUST BE ENROLLED in SIS. In lieu of the confusion, please ensure your October 1 enrollment is accurate in SIS by 12/5.
