For those of you that may have looked at the math on the final proration computation between the eligible claim and funds availability and were confused it was understandable.  The correct amount of expiring IDEA funds has been updated in the table below as well as on the website.  All other data and district payments are correct.  Apologies for any confusion.

Also, I received a question yesterday after this message was sent regarding final Room and Board payment and proration.  As a reminder, the claim cycle for Room and Board runs through September 30; therefore, 2017-18 claims are yet to be finalized but we will reimburse all claims at 100%.  Once you receive final residential billings from your providers, please enter your claims timely in the Sp Ed Room and Board claim system via IWAS.  The deadline for submission of Room and Board claims for the 2017-18 cycle is November 1, 2018

Per Section 14-7.02b, the 2017-18 Special Education Excess Cost payment has been calculated and vouchered on September 25, 2018 from 2017 “ unexpended IDEA Discretionary funds originally designated for room and board reimbursement . . .”  to all districts that had eligible students.  Please note that the deposit will be identified as fiscal year 2018, Revenue Code 4625 (Room and Board), sub-project code XC and then the district Region-County-District-Type-Code.

The statewide breakdown of the students, claims, reimbursement and proration are provided in the table below.  A historical summary of the Special Education Excess Cost claims and reimbursement can be found at https://www.isbe.net/Documents/sped_excess_cost_historical.pdf .
