Sp Ed Private Facility School Alignment between SIS and I-Star

Please be advised that we are aware of a disconnect between the Region-County-District-Type-School (RCDTS) record in the Student Information System and I-Star for students who are placed at special education private facilities. Last night, a fix was put into I-Star that disapproved a high volume of records due to the implementation of this new control. However, given the timelines and commitment for ISBE to produce an error free December 1 child count file, we are removing this fix and deferring it for implementation to next school year.

We acknowledge this issue as a legitimate error that needs to be addressed; the student RCDTS record needs corrected by each district to properly link SIS and I-Star to the correct private facility school, but it is more important at this point in the child count collection process to ensure that students are counted when they are placed at a private facility than to align them to the school/program entered into SIS. We appreciate your understanding.
