Final 2016-17 IDEA Room and Board Claim Payment Information
The 2016-17 Individuals
with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Room and Board program is now complete
and all claims were reimbursed at 100 percent. Claims during the 2016-17
school year were paid at 90 percent to assure sufficient funding is available to
pay all claims equally. After all claims for the school year are received,
an assessment of the availability of Room and Board funds is performed and a
final payment is made. There was sufficient funding available this year to
pay all claims for the additional 10 percent due.
The final 2016-17 school
year voucher was processed by ISBE on December 14 and was released by the Office
of the Comptroller on December 18.
2017-18 School Year: The projected
increase of claims and available IDEA funds for the 2017-18 school year is
estimated at a proration of approximately 95 percent; therefore, to avoid
potential overpayment, submitted monthly claims will be paid at 90 percent
during the year. Once all claims are finalized in the fall of 2018, final claims
and proration will be calculated and paid at that time.
