Final 2020-21 IDEA Room and Board Claim Payment Information
The 2020-21 Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Room and Board program (Revenue Code 4625) is now complete. All claims were reimbursed at 100 percent.
Monthly claims were paid at 85 percent during the 2020-21 school year to ensure sufficient funding was available to pay all claims equally. An assessment of the availability of Room and Board funds is performed and a final payment is made after all claims for the school year have been received. There was sufficient funding available this year to pay all claims for the additional 15 percent due.
The final 2020-21 school year voucher was processed by ISBE on Dec. 22, 2021. Districts should see that the final payment has been deposited.
2021-22 school year: Submitted monthly claims will be paid at 75 percent during the 2021-22 school year based on the amount of funds required to be set aside for Room and Board in the state IDEA plan for fiscal year 2022. Final claims and proration will be calculated and paid after all claims are finalized in the fall of 2022.
