December 1, 2016 Child Count – Deadline Extension

All local education agencies (LEAs) should continue work to ensure that all students with disabilities are entered and approved for the State’s special education child count taken as of December 1, 2016.  We are aware of the performance issues that have been occurring with I-Star and apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused.  Our highest priority is to improve system performance and user experience.  We appreciate your patience. 

Due to the I-Star performance issues we are extending the deadline for entering additions, deletions or changes to the student records that will counted as of December 1 until Tuesday, February 28.

As reminder, in order for a record that is reported in I-Star to be included in the December 1 child count, their record will need to be listed as “approved”.  Before attempting to clean up any disapproved records, please click on Recheck Edits on your student approval page in I-Star.
